Bhubaneswar: Veteran Mandarin and former Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy has resigned from the post of Chairman of Western Odisha Development Council (WODC).
The BJP Government has accepted his resignation from the crucial post and the Planning & Convergence (P&C) Department brought a notification to this effect today.
“The resignation of Asit Kumar Tripathy, Chairman to the Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) under the administrative control of P&C Department is hereby accepted with effect from August 17, 2024 afternoon,” read the notification.
Mr Tripathy has been appointed as WODC Chairman in December 2020 after his superannuation from the All India Service as Chief Secretary of Odisha.
During his tenure, Shri Tripathy has taken a lot of measures and several mega developmental projects in the Western Odisha areas with funding from the WODC.
He made the WODC fully active with extensive filed visits and sanction of several projects to ease the life of the people from the region.
