Ahmedabad: As part of Odisha’s strategic plan to transform its urban infrastructure and riverfront development, a delegation visited Gujarat to conduct a field study of key landmarks in Ahmedabad, including the Sabarmati Riverfront and the iconic Atal Bridge.
Shri Prithiviraj Harichandan, Minister Works, Law and Excise during the visit, discussions were held with Shri Amrutesh Kalidas Aurangabadkar, the Executive Director of the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited, alongside a special review meeting to understand the various technical, operational, and planning aspects of the project.
Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary Works held detailed discussion with ED SRDCL Shri Aurangabadkar. Shri Banchanidhi Pani is the Managing Director of SRDCL, who belongs to Odisha is eager for transformation in Odisha, said sources.
Shri Singh is chalking out mage projects and taking a cue from SRDCL. Minister Shri Harichandan is extending all out support for such development.

Projects like the Sabarmati Riverfront and the Atal Bridge serve as a remarkable example of integrating urban development, environmental protection, river rejuvenation, public recreation, and tourism. They represent an exceptional synthesis of development and environmental balance, offering valuable insights that will directly inform Odisha’s urban renewal roadmap and upcoming waterfront development projects.
Several senior officials accompanied the delegation during the visit, including Engineer-in-Chief (Civil) Er. Satyabrata Behera, Chief Engineer of Capital Projects Ahmedabad Er. Patanjali Mishra, Chief Engineer of National Highways-One Er. Narayan Patel, Chief Engineer of Roads-One and Two Er. Shibabrata Taria, and Chief Engineer of OBCC Er. Ramachandra Sethi.
