Bhubaneswar: The BJP Government is all set to distribute the first installment of the Subhadra Yojana to remaining beneficiaries on February 8 in Jajpur. This was informed by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida here today.
Speaking to media persons here, Smt.Parida, who holds the Women and Child Development Department, said that fourth phase distribution of the Subhadra money will be done on February 8 in Jajpur.
She said applications of about 2.50 lakh eligible women are pending for biometric and NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) failure. She advised those women to visit their bank branch on February 3 or 4, resolve the issue and make their bank account DBT enabled.
Smt.Parida further informed that another 1.15 lakh applications are pending for e-KYC verification. After the verification, whether they are eligible or not can be known, she stated.
If the applications pending at banks are cleared, the total number of beneficiaries in all four phases will cross one crore, the Deputy CM said.
The eligible women, who will remain out of the scheme after distribution of money in the fourth phase, can resolve their issues and get the benefit on March 8, when the second installment will be paid. Such beneficiaries would get two installments once, she added.
Notably, the 4th phase of Subhadra money was scheduled to be released on December 25. However, the state government had to defer the date as the field verification of the remaining applicants has not yet been completed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the ambitious Subhadra scheme of the BJP government on his birthday, on September 17 this year.
Under the Subhadra scheme, all eligible women between the age of 21-60 years would receive Rs 50,000 over a period of five years between 2024-25 and 2028-29.
Each beneficiary will receive Rs 10,000 per year in two installments of Rs 5,000 each one on Rakhi Purnima, and the other on International Women’s Day (March 8). The initiative is expected to cover more than 1 crore women.
