Subhadra 4.0 In JAN

Bhubaneswar: The State Government has decided to distribute the first instalment under Subhadra Yojana in the fourth phase since its launching in September this year in the month of January 2025.

This was informed by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who is in-charge of the Women and Child Development Department.

Speaking to media persons here today, Smt.Parida said that the scrutiny of applications of beneficiaries will be completed by December end and the disbursement will be done in January 2025.

She said that over 20 lakh beneficiaries are set to receive the financial assistance under Subhadra in the fourth phase of disbursement in January.

Maintaining that everyone will be given an opportunity to avail the benefits under Subhadra Yojana, she said the verification process is taking time due to various reasons including land dispute.

When asked about the status of inclusion of Bonda tribal women in the Subhadra scheme, the Deputy CM said more than 12,000 women belonging to the community have applied for the money, of whom 9,000 have received their first instalment money. However, 3,000 beneficiaries are yet to receive the money.

Notably, the 4th phase of Subhadra money was scheduled to be released on December 25. However, the state government had to defer the date as the field verification of the remaining applicants has not yet been completed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the ambitious Subhadra scheme of the BJP government on his birthday, on September 17 this year.

Under the Subhadra scheme, all eligible women between the age of 21-60 years would receive Rs 50,000 over a period of five years between 2024-25 and 2028-29.

Each beneficiary will receive Rs 10,000 per year in two installments of Rs 5,000 each one on Rakhi Purnima, and the other on International Women’s Day (March 8). The initiative is expected to cover more than 1 crore women.
