New Delhi: Union Minister for Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan has emphasized that the Central and State governments are equal partners in strengthening the country’s school education ecosystem.
Addressing the two-day Conclave of State and UT Education Ministers at the ICAR National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC) in New Delhi, Shri Pradhan chaired the proceedings organized to review Centrally Sponsored Schemes under the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL).
In his address, Shri Pradhan highlighted that the national conclave serves as a vital platform for the Centre, States, and Union Territories to deepen cooperation, exchange best practices, and accelerate the execution of key education schemes in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He noted that these joint discussions would reinforce a shared commitment toward constructing an inclusive, future-ready, and high-quality school education system while contributing directly to the upcoming PRAGATI review chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reflecting on national progress, Shri Pradhan showcased milestones across flagship programs including Samagra Shiksha, PM SHRI, NIPUN Bharat, PM POSHAN, and ULLAS. He urged representatives from States and UTs to maintain collaborative momentum in improving foundational literacy and numeracy, upgrading teacher capability, integrating technology and artificial intelligence, and fostering student innovation.
To bolster foundational learning outcomes, the Education Minister strongly encouraged states to emphasize education in mother tongues and promote multilingualism across classrooms. He underlined that joint efforts across all levels of governance will remain central to delivering holistic learning outcomes for every student toward achieving the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The event, which also included addresses from Minister of State for Education and Skill Development Shri Jayant Chaudhary alongside senior ministry officials, established a firm roadmap for state-level execution and policy alignment in school education.
