Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha has constituted a high-level expert committee to address various demands put forth by teacher, professor, and staff unions across the state. The formation of the high-powered committee was formally notified by the Department of School & Mass Education.
The expert committee comprises Shri Ashok Kumar Tripathi, Indian Administrative Service (Retd.) (Cabinet Minister) – Chairman, Shri Shantanu Kumar Sahu, Odisha Economic Service, Financial Advisor and Special Administrative Secretary, Home Department – Member, Shri Sanatan Panda, Odisha Education Service (Retd.) – Member (Convenor) and Shri Manoranjan Mishra, Former Principal, Government Women’s College, Balangir – Member
The committee is tasked with considering the demands submitted to the State Government by various associations representing teachers, professors, and staff of Government, aided, and unaided private educational institutions under the Department of Public Education and Higher Education.
This initiative follows an announcement made by Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi on the floor of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. It is anticipated that this step will be crucial in resolving the long-standing issues faced by educators and employees in the state’s education sector.
The committee is mandated to submit its comprehensive report to the State Government within a period of six months from its formation.
The notification for the committee’s formation was issued by the School and Mass Education Department Secretary, Dr. N Thirumala Naik.
