Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has taken a significant step toward strengthening the state’s education sector by regularizing the services of schematic junior teachers.
This decision directly impacts over 13,000 teachers who were recruited on a contractual basis during the 2023-24 academic year.
According to the official announcement, these teachers are now considered regular employees effective from their original date of joining. While they will receive notional benefits for the period between their appointment and December 31, 2025, the full financial transition will occur soon after.
Starting January 1, 2026, these educators will be entitled to the complete salary scales and additional benefits reserved for regular government employees.
This move fulfills a prior commitment made by the Chief Minister and has been met with widespread appreciation across the teaching community.
By providing job security and financial parity to such a large cohort, the state government aims to boost morale and improve the overall quality of primary and secondary education in Odisha.
