Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary Anu Garg chaired a high-level preparatory meeting was convened this evening to finalize arrangements for the upcoming visit of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah to Odisha. The two-day official tour, scheduled for March 5 and 6, requires extensive inter-departmental coordination to ensure security protocols and logistical requirements are met within the stipulated timeline.
Additional Chief Secretary of Home, Industries, and Information and Public Relations, Shri Hemant Sharma, provided updates on the readiness of their respective sectors. DGP Shri Y B Khurania, Crime Branch DGP, Shri Vinaytosh Mishra, Special Secretary Home, Shri Radha Kishan Sharma and other senior officials were present.
According to the official itinerary, the Union Minister is scheduled to arrive at Bhubaneswar via a special IAF aircraft on the evening of March 5. The following day includes a series of high-profile events, beginning with the CISF Foundation Day program at Munduli, Cuttack. The administrative focus then shifts to Jatni in Khurda district, where the Union Minister will lay the foundation stone for the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) campuses. Additionally, the NFSU Transit Campus in Bhubaneswar will be inaugurated through virtual mode.
The latter part of the visit involves the inauguration of the Naveen Nyaya Sanhita exhibition at the Idco Exhibition Grounds, along with the commencement of various departmental projects. To facilitate these engagements, the state government has directed the completion of infrastructure upgrades, specifically the black-topping, lighting, and beautification of the road stretch from Jachhi Sahi to Munduli.
The meeting served as a platform for the Chief Secretary to review security arrangements, traffic management strategies, and venue-specific route plans. Senior Top Cops, Secretaries and District Collectors were present to confirm that all administrative protocols are aligned. The Chief Secretary emphasized that all departments must maintain seamless communication to ensure the visit proceeds without operational delays.
