State Flim Award Ceremony Organized

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government organized 32nd, 33rd and 34th State Film Awards ceremony here on 17 November. The Ceremony was organized by the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Government of Odisha here.

Governor, Raghubar Das, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Minister Odia Language, Literature and Culture, Surjyabanshi Suraj, Ekamra Bhubaneswar Lawmaker Babu Singh graced the occasion.

Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary Odia Language, Literature and Culture welcomed the dignitaries and presented details on Film Awards.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Shri Das said that nature has given immense potential to Odisha. Its natural beauty is very beautiful. Let the cinema industry narrate untold stories through cinema.

The Governor asked them to dream big to make good cinema and all should cooperate to make this dream come true. In his address, the Governor said that the film award ceremony is not only a unique moment but it is also a unique moment.

It is a remarkable epitome of the glorious tradition of Odia cinema that symbolizes the artistic excellence, cultural glory and social image of the journey of Odia cinema over eight decades. Odia cinema is associated with the importance of Odisha’s art, rich cultural heritage, vibrant folk art and values. So far, the makers and artists of the first Odia film Sita Vivah in 1936 have been enriching not only Odia cinema but also the whole of Indian cinema with their dedication and creativity.

Respecting the visionary artists and technicians of the state who have made a valuable contribution to the development of Odia cinema, his work has not only entertained the audience but has also made the society educated united and empowered.

The Governor said that the award ceremony of film awards is a celebration of their achievements and achievements.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister  Pravati Parida, Minister for Odia Language, Literature and Culture Suryabanshi Suraj, Ekamra Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh said that the film has a far-reaching impact on social change.

The film award ceremony symbolizes ‘Pujya Poojar’ and will bring back the former glory of Odia cinema and inspire the Odia film industry to take it forward. He appealed to all to cooperate in this regard.

Director Culture, Bijay Ketan Upadhyay proposed the vote of thanks at the end.

Eminent writer, director and playwright Ananta Mohapatra for the year 2020, noted cinematographer Srinibas Mohapatra for the year 2021 and eminent comedian Jairam Samal for the year 2022 were given the ‘Mohan Sundardev Goswami’ award.

Apart from this, awards were given to the outstanding personalities for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022 in 32 other categories.
