Bhubaneswar: The State government is expecting to receive investment worth Rs 5 lakh crore during the two-day long Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave to be held here on January 28 and 29.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said this after making a field visit to the Janata Maidan where the mega business summit to be held.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that investment proposals worth more than Rs 5 lakh crore are likely to receive in this investors’ meet which would create employment for more than 3.5 lakh persons. He said that more than 100 investors are scheduled to sign MoUs during the event.
“All our preparations have reached the final stage and this event will be a historic one. It will prove to be a milestone in creating a strong economic and industrial infrastructure for the State,” the CM said, adding, “Our goal of getting a place among the top five economies among the States will definitely be fulfilled.”
Along with this, the Chief Minister said that there will be immense opportunities for the common people like workers and farmers.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Business Summit on January 28, which will be his fifth visit to Odisha in the last 7 months.
Along with this, Union Ministers like Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram and Ashwini Vaishnaw will also attend the event.
The Chief Minister said that more than 7500 delegates have registered on the Make in Odisha website. It has more than 100 international delegates from more than 20 countries. Maximum delegates are likely to come from our partner countries like Singapore, Australia and Malaysia, he informed.
Some Country of Focus sessions will be held in which delegates from about 20 countries will discuss. This will increase the profile of Odisha at international level, Shri Majhi stated.
The conclave will also feature a ‘Make in Odisha Expo’. Around 150 exhibitors will showcase their products, services and innovations. It will be open to delegates only on the two days of 28-29. It will be open to the public on the 30th, he said. Along with this, three thematic sessions like Startup Odisha, Skilled in Odisha and Women Entrepreneurship through Subhadra Yojana will also be held.
Various round table meetings will also be held. He said that knowledge exchange will take place among industry professionals and experts through discussions like ‘Women-led Roundtable’, ‘CEO Roundtable’ and ‘Editors Roundtable’.
In addition, the Culture department has also arranged dance performances by renowned Odisha dancer Aruna Mohanty, drone shows and other events.
Among others, Industries Minister Sampada Chandra Swain, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Hemant Sharma and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
