Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakhs for kin of boat mishap. He also directed officials to provide proper treatment for the rescued people.
Special Relief Commissioner and ACS Revenue & Disaster Management, Satyabrata Sahu directed District Magistrate of Jharsuguda to take up rescue operations of victims of boat mishap.
Shri Sahu talked to Srikanta Prusty, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) on the immediate rescue operation to be taken up by the District Administration.
RDC Northern Division, Shri Prusty rushed to the spot and monitored the rescue operation of the boat mishap. Jharsuguda Collector Aboli S Naravane, SP Smit P Parmar also coordinated the rescue mission.
As reported about 60 people were there on boat. They are from Kharsia Chhattisgarh area. They were visiting Patharseni Temple, one of the popular tourism center under Ambhabhona block at the bank of River Mahanadi.
Rescue Operation was taken up and local boat was carrying persons from Patharseni village(under Ambabhona PS of Bargarh) to Sardha village(Rengali PS of Jharsuguda.
When boat capsized and about 8 people are missing. IIC Rengali, IIC Lakhanpur, OIC Kandheikela were on the spot.
Fire team of Ambabhona ,Lakhanpur and Jharsuguda immediately started operation.
Two platoons of OSAP jawans were deployed at spot and IGP Northern Range Himanshu Lal monitored the operations.
ODRAF teams from Bolangir, Rourkela have been mobilized they reached the spot to take up rescue operations.
Amblulances from MCL also mobilized in addition to government ambulances.
One boat of Forest Department was also mobilized from Rampalugu. It is assisting in rescue operation.
In fact the Collector, SP, PD ,Raigarh were also on the spot and with the help of Police and Fire Officials the people were sent to their homes.
Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena held meeting with senior officials. DGP Fire Services Sudhanshu Sarangi monitored the Rescue Operations.
