State BJP Team First; Samal

Bhubaneswar: Odisha BJP President Man Mohan Samal, fresh from high-level deliberations in Delhi met with President of India, Droupadi Murmu and with top party brass including J P Nadda, National President of BJP, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and others.

He also talked to BJP General Secretary BJP, Sunil Bansal, B.L. Santosh, and Narendra Singh Tomar, has outlined the party’s strategic roadmap for organizational appointments and the eagerly anticipated cabinet expansion.

Shri Samal also talked to MPs of the Party and held detailed discussion.

Speaking to reporters upon his return, Shri Samal emphasized that the formation of the State Organization would be the immediate priority. “The new team will be formed within a day or two,” he stated, indicating swift action on this front. Following the organizational revamp, the party will focus on appointing Chairpersons for various Boards and Corporations.

The much-discussed cabinet expansion, according to Shri Samal, will be the final step in this sequence, expected to take place “within fifteen days to a month.”

He reiterated that the Chief Minister holds the sole prerogative for cabinet expansion, a responsibility he is currently discharging. However, Samal assured that if the party’s advice is sought, they would “definitely give it.”

Regarding the criteria for cabinet selection, Shri Samal highlighted that “priority will be given to the cabinet and all aspects based on qualifications, skills and experience.” The ultimate decision on the cabinet’s composition, he clarified, rests with the parliamentary board.

Shri Samal’s visit to Delhi underscored the party’s focus on strengthening its organizational structure in Odisha, setting the stage for significant administrative and political shifts in the coming weeks.
