Puri:On the auspicious eve of the Odia New Year, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today released the much-awaited calendar published by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration(SJTA). The Chief Minister also participated in the tradition of distributing ‘torani’ (a special holy drink) to devotees present on the occasion.
The event, held in the vicinity of the revered Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, was marked by religious fervor and the presence of several dignitaries. Joining Chief Minister Shri Majhi were Ministers, Suresh Pujari and Prithviraj Harichandan, along with Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Chief Administrator SJTA, Arabinda Kumar Padhee and others.
The release of the Shrimandir calendar holds significant cultural and religious importance for the people of Odisha as it outlines the important festivals, rituals, and auspicious days to be observed throughout the Odia year.
