Puri: As per decision of the State Cabinet all the four gates of Shree Jagannatha Temple was opened in the early moring on 13 June.
In the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister, Kankavardhan singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister, Prabhatiparida, Members of the Council of Ministers, MPs and MLAs, all the four gates of Srimandir have been opened for the devotees today.
Shri Majhi prayed for the well-being of the people of the state. He along with his Team visited the temple and reached all the four gates.
Keeping its poll promise, the newly elected BJP government has reopened four gates of Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri this morning.
The three gates of the 12th century shrine, which were closed since Covid-19 pandemic, were reopened after the ‘Mangal Alati’ ritual of Lord Jagannath, in presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and his two deputies and Council of Ministers.
Along with the CM and his team, several BJP MPs, MLAs and party leaders have also visited the temple and offered prayers before Lord Jagannath. They also made a ‘parikrama’ around the temple complex.
After taking oath, the BJP government last evening had taken its first decision to reopen all four gates of Jagannath temple. Today, the gates have been reopened at the right time after the ‘Mangal Alati’ ritual at 6.30 am, Majhi told reporters in Puri.
The government will closely monitor the situation and will take necessary steps, if required, to streamline the visit of devotees to the shrine, the CM said.
He said that the State government has also taken another decision to set up a Rs 500 crore corpus fund for better management, maintenance and development of the Shri Jagannath temple. The provision will be made in the upcoming state budget, Shri Majhi informed.
