Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Budget Session of the State Legislative Assembly, Speaker Surama Padhy warned the opposition legislators, who are showing indiscipline behavior in the House during the session.
Speaking to media persons, Shrimati Padhy said constructive suggestions from opposition members will be welcomed. However, disruptions or obstructions will not be tolerated, said the Speaker, who recently attended the 85th All India Presiding Officers’ Conference at Patna.
She said the opposition parties should play a constructive role and provide suggestions during the session. However, the House will not tolerate any ruckus or obstruction.
The third session of the 17th Assembly will begin on February 13 and conclude on April 5. The Speaker will hold an all-party meeting before the commencement of the session.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the finance portfolio, will table the Budget for 2025-26 on February 17.
The general discussion of the Budget is scheduled to be held on February 20 and 21 while discussion on Demands for Grants will start on March 10 and continue till March 28.
Reports of various Departmentally Related Standing Committees will be tabled before the House on March 7.
