Bhubaneswar: A three-day International Conference on Biotechnology for Sustainable Development and Circular Economy will take place at the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) in Bhubaneswar from December 8 to 10.
The conference is being organized by the Center for Industrial Biotechnology Research (CIBR) of SOA in collaboration with the Biotech Research Society, India (BRSI), according to Prof. H.N. Thatoi, Conference Chair and Director of CIBR.
The event is designed to serve as a global platform for researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and academicians. Its goal is to allow them to share knowledge, present innovations, and collaborate on initiatives that promote a sustainable and circular approach to addressing the challenges of the 21st century.
A key objective of the conference is to discuss effective strategies for fostering start-ups as an entrepreneurial venture related to Industrial Biotechnology and Bio-business for the advancement of the circular economy.
The conference will cover various themes, including Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology (IEB), Food and Agriculture Biotechnology (FAB), Marine and Aquaculture Biotechnology (MAB), Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (MPB), Green-Hydrogen and Bio-fuel Biotechnology (GBB), and Circular Economy and Bio-business (CEB), Prof. Thatoi stated.
Forty-three resource persons from 26 foreign countries are expected to attend the conference, which will feature three parallel sessions each day. The program will include plenary talks, invited talks, short oral presentations, rapid oral sessions, and poster presentations. The event has received support from the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT).
Workshops on scientific writing will be organized during the event, led by highly reputed academicians and scientists. The BRSI will sponsor a ‘Meet the Scientist’ program specifically for school students. Additionally, the conference will host exhibitions featuring start-ups, industry partners, and scientific suppliers.
