Bhubaneswar: Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University here has been chosen as the ‘Best Promising University in Asia for Research’ at the Fourth Edition of the Asia Pacific Education and Technology Awards Summit 2022 (APETA-2022) organized by Education Post at Goa on Friday.
The award was received by Dr. Mahendra Prasad, Director of SOA at the Summit organised on the theme –‘Future Technology in Higher Education—the New Education Policy (NEP) Perspective.
Sarpreet Singh Gill, Secretary in the department of Education in the government of Goa, attended the program as the chief guest while Dr. Sanjay B. Chordia, Founder President and Chairman of Suryadatta Group of Institutions, Pune, delivered the keynote address.
Universities and colleges were awarded at the summit for their contribution in various academic criteria as per evaluation made by Education Post.
Speaking on the occasion, Gill emphasised the urgent need for improving the quality of primary, secondary and higher secondary schools which were the foundation of learning. He expressed happiness at universities and colleges getting recognition for criteria including strong industry connect and developing entrepreneurship and leadership traits in students.
Shiv Shankar Sharma, Editor-in-Chief of the Education Post and Shiksha Sabha TV, sister concern of Education Post, congratulated the institutions which were awarded at the summit. The Education Post is a journal solely dedicated to higher education in India with its content including insightful articles on current trends and futuristic courses.
SOA, a multi-disciplinary deemed to be university, was ranked 16th by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2022 while 16 of its researchers had figured in the list of world’s top 2 percent scientists prepared by Stanford University this year.
