Puri: To ensure hassle free darshan of Lord Jagannath during the holy Odia month Kartik, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has imposed restrictions on entry of devotees into the temple from October 18.
As per a public notice issued by the SJTA, devotees can be allowed to enter into the temple on Singhadwara (Lion’s Gate) and the Western gate. No entry will be allowed from the other two gates. There will be no exit from the Lion’s Gate too, it said.
However, this restriction won’t apply to the temple servitors and their family members.
The temple administration has urged all to adhere to these rules so that darshan becomes smooth and organised.
SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda K Padhee said on X, “The auspicious month of Kartik is knocking on the door. Along with the observance of several important rituals of Lord Jagannath, it is our duty to ensure that darshan arrangements for a large number of devotees and those keeping the fast are well-planned.” Dr Padhee sought cooperation from all to implement it.
The Temple Administration has taken this decision as lakhs of devotees especially the Habisyalis who are coming for Kartika Brata in Puri.
