Bhubaneswar: The Sixth State Finance Commission formally submitted its final report to Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati at Lok Bhawan today.
The Commission members, led by Chairman Dr. Arun Kumar Panda, presented the comprehensive document and engaged in detailed discussions regarding the various recommendations aimed at shaping the state’s fiscal future.
Secretary to Governor, Shrimati Roopa Roshan Sahoo was present during the presentation of the Final Report.
Established on January 22, 2025, the commission undertook a rigorous year-long process to ensure the report was both data-driven and inclusive.
This journey involved extensive outreach to gather suggestions from a wide array of stakeholders, including public representatives, government officials, and financial experts. To ensure transparency and localized input, the commission invited memorandums from various departments, districts, and members of the general public across the state.
An interim report had previously been submitted on August 18, 2025, providing an early framework for the state’s financial planning. Following that submission, the commission continued its evaluation by holding critical meetings with key government departments to refine its final suggestions.
Upon receiving the report, the Governor congratulated the commission for its disciplined adherence to the timeline and for the inclusion of innovative suggestions designed to bolster financial growth.
The final report is expected to serve as a strategic roadmap for the allocation of resources and the strengthening of the state’s economic framework.
The submission ceremony was attended by senior officials and members of the commission who contributed to the extensive data collection and analysis phases of the project. This final submission marks a significant milestone in the state’s administrative and financial governance cycle.
