Bhubaneswar: With direct supervision of PCCF Wildlife, Susanta Nanda and working 48 hours continuously, the forest officials in Nayagarh District nabbed six accused responsible for electrocution of a wild elephant.
According to sources, a wild elephant was electrocuted by some wildlife criminals in the forest areas near Daspalla in Nayagarh district.
Following this incident, the forest officials launched an operation and nabbed the culprits.

They are Sanatan Naik, Satrughna Sinha, Tushar Ghanta, Sumanta Ghanta , Santosh Naik and Abdul Salim Khan.
Abdul Salim Khan was also involved in CID PS case no 7 of 2007 and was arrested by Crime Branch.

It was Tough Cop B K Sharma, who was heading CID CB at that time and it was a Joint Operation of Crime Branch and State Forest.
Khan was the main kingpin and was involved in a number of crime against wildlife.
Now many clues regarding elephant poaching for tusks of last few years are getting unearthed, said a senior forest official and efforts are on to cath the other criminals engaged in such crime.
