Balangir: Welcoming Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s decision to contest from Kantabanji Assembly seat in Bolangir district, Veteran BJD leader Ananga Udaya Singh Deo today said this move will have a positive impact on BJD in entire Western Odisha.
Speaking to media persons, Shri Singh Deo said Oppositional political parties have been alleging that the State Government has been neglecting the western parts of the State. However, it is the reality that the Chief Minister has special love and affection towards the Western Odisha and its people, he said.
“We and all our party workers are very happy with the decision that the Chief Minister is going to contest from Kantabanji Assembly seat in this election. The party workers are in celebrating mode and distributing sweets,” he said.
The Veteran BJD leader said that Shri Patnaik’s candidature from Kantabanji will not only impact the MLA elections in Bolangir but also the entire western region of the State. It will also influence the election result and BJD will win the maximum number of seats in the region, he stated.
Welcoming the move of the Chief Minister, senior BJD leader and Bolangir MLA candidate Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo said, “During last election, we had proposed that CM should contest in any seat in Bolangir district. This time, he decided to fight from Kantabanji, we all are very happy.”
“After Late R N Singh Deo, we are going to get a Chief Minister candidate from Bolangir. It is a pride moment for all of us,” he said.
With the nomination of CM from Kantabanji Assembly seat, one can imagine the pace of developmental activities Bolangir district is going to witness in coming days, he said.
Besides, this decision of the party would impact in a very positive way and the result in all MLAs and MP seats in the Western Odisha. “We expect that BJD will win all the seats in the region,” Kalikesh added.
BJD Supremo and Chief Minister has decided to contest from Kantabanji Assembly seat in addition to his traditional Hinjili MLA seat in Ganjam district. Last time in 2019, the CM had contested from Hinjili and Bijepur MLA segments and won both seats. Later, he resigned from the Bijepur seat and retained the Hinjili seat.
