Bhubaneswar: Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia has assumed charge as the Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change (FE&CC) here on Tuesday.
He was greeted at the Department by ACS Satyabrata Sahu, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Debidutt Biswal, PCCF Wildlife Susanta Nanda, Environment Director K Murugusen and other senior officials of the Department.
As Forest, Environment and Climate Change (FE&CC) is a major Government department, the Minister sought cooperation from all officials to take it forward in coming days.
With allocation of more than Rs 2000 crore for Forest, Environment and Climate Change Sector, the State Government needs faster program implementation.
While ACS Shri Sahu was heading the Department since April 2023, he speeded up various program implementations and the Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change received a boost for which the State Government received laurels at national level, officials say.
