New Delhi: India is set to host a significant international lawn bowls event as the 15th Under-25 Asian Championship approaches, scheduled to take place from April 5 to 12, 2026.
In a major boost for regional sports, Rajaswari Seth from Odisha has been officially selected to represent Team India in this prestigious continental tournament.
The selection of Ms.Seth marks a proud moment for the Odisha sporting community, as she joins the national squad for the high-stakes competition. To ensure the team is peak-ready for the international stage, a specialized Indian team coaching camp is slated to begin on March 25.
This intensive training period will transition directly into the championship, with the coaching support continuing through to the conclusion of the event in the national capital.
Shri A U Singh Deo, the President of the Odisha State Lawn Ball Association, expressed his immense satisfaction and pride regarding Seth’s inclusion in the national team.
Shri Singh Deo noted that her selection is a testament to her hard work and the growing prominence of lawn bowls in Odisha.
Shri Singh Deo, along with other association officials, believes that such representation on the Asian stage will inspire more youth from the state to take up the sport professionally.
As the host nation, India is looking to capitalize on home-turf advantage during the week-long championship. Seth is expected to be a key player in India’s quest for medals against the finest under-25 talent from across Asia.
