Bargarh: The Biju Janata Dal turned the streets of Bargarh into a battlefield of dissent today, launching a statewide protest against what they termed the complete collapse of governance under the current BJP administration. BJD Senior Vice President Debi Prasad Mishra and Rairakhol MLA Prasanna Acharya, Bolangir MLA Shri Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Bargarh MLA Shri Debesh Achrya launched scathing attack on BJP Government.
As the rice bowl of Odisha, Bargarh became the symbolic epicenter for farmers who are currently drowning in a crisis of unlifted paddy and forced distress sales. Shri Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Lawmaker, Bolangir and a prominent voice within the Biju Janata Dal, spearheaded the agitation by framing the crisis as a dual failure of morality and management.
Shri Singh Deo asserted that the government’s inability to protect the state’s daughters and its providers is a stain on its tenure. His presence at the Bargarh protest underscored the BJD’s strategic focus on leveraging his expertise in the cooperative and agricultural sectors to challenge the current administration’s rural policies.
Addressing a massive gathering of aggrieved cultivators, BJD Senior Vice President Debi Prasad Mishra and Rairakhol MLA Prasanna Acharya launched a scathing attack on the government’s apathy. They argued that while the state makes lofty promises, the reality on the ground is a haunting one for the annadatas who are left watching their hard-earned harvests rot in the mandis. The leaders emphasized that the failure to streamline the procurement process has handed farmers over to the mercy of middlemen, effectively stripping them of their livelihoods.
Shri Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo echoed these sentiments, linking the economic betrayal of farmers to a broader breakdown of the social fabric. He pointed out that while the agricultural sector suffers, the safety of women has simultaneously plummeted, suggesting a government that has lost its grip on both the economy and basic law and order.
Bargarh MLA Shri Debesh Acharya further lambasted the BJP for its disconnect from the rural heartbeat of Odisha, claiming that the administration has turned a blind eye to the very people who feed the state.
The protest served as a stern warning from the BJD leadership that they will not remain silent spectators while the interests of farmers are sacrificed at the altar of administrative incompetence. By mobilizing in the agricultural heartland, the party has signaled that the fight for the rights of the farmer will remain their primary political crusade in the coming months.
