New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, has once again asserted the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to making India Naxal-free, setting a firm deadline of March 31, 2026, for the complete elimination of the menace.
The Minister’s statement came as he met and felicitated the joint team of CRPF, Chhattisgarh Police, DRG, and CoBRA jawans in New Delhi, who successfully carried out ‘Operation Black Forest’ on Karreguttalu hill. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma were also present at the event.
Shri Shah congratulated the security forces for their valor in what he described as the “biggest anti-Naxal operation ever conducted on Karreguttalu hill.” He stated that their bravery and courage during ‘Operation Black Forest’ will be remembered as a “golden chapter in the history of anti-Naxal operations.”
Emphasizing the government’s zero-tolerance policy, Shri Shah declared that the Modi government “will not rest until all the Naxalites either surrender, are caught or eliminated.” He praised the security forces for their high spirits and determination, which led to the destruction of the Naxal base camp and their supply chain, despite the challenging conditions of heat, altitude, and the constant threat of IEDs.
The Home Minister highlighted the immense damage caused by Naxalites to the country’s least developed areas, including the shutting down of schools and hospitals, and the obstruction of government welfare schemes. He noted that due to successful anti-Naxal operations, a “new sunrise” has dawned in the lives of 6.5 crore people in the area from Pashupatinath to Tirupati.
Reaffirming the government’s resolve, Shri Shah stressed that they are making every effort to support security personnel who have suffered injuries in these operations. He reiterated the commitment to make the country free from Naxalism by the specified deadline of March 31, 2026, a goal he has consistently stated in various public addresses and parliamentary sessions.
