Bhubaneswar: Union Home and Co-operation Minister Shri Amit Shah is scheduled to undertake a three-day visit to Odisha starting this Friday, during which he will launch several major development projects, address public gatherings, and attend key official events across the state.
Shri Shah is expected to arrive at Jharsuguda Airport on the night of July 3, spending the night in the Western Odisha town. His official itinerary begins the following morning, July 4, with a visit to Baragada to inaugurate Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s new 1775 crore rupees bio-ethanol refinery plant in Baulsingha.
Odisha Revenue Minister Shri Suresh Pujari noted that this second-generation ethanol plant is designed to benefit local farmers while contributing to national energy security. Following the inauguration, Shri Shah will address a public meeting in Baragada at around 11:50 AM.
Later on Saturday, the Union Home Minister will travel to the neighbouring Sambalpur district to participate in Government programmes, visit the Maa Samaleswari Temple, and inaugurate or lay foundation stones for various developmental initiatives at Remed field. He will then fly to Bhubaneswar to spend Saturday night.
On Sunday, July 5, Shri Shah will travel to Badamba in the Cuttack district to attend the revitalization ceremony of the Badamba Sugar Mill, fulfilling a key promise made by the Governing BJP in its election manifesto to operationalize the facility. Shah will then return to Bhubaneswar to attend the President’s Colour presentation ceremony of the Odisha Police before flying back to the national capital on Sunday evening.
Ahead of the high-profile visit, State Government officials held review meeting with senior police officials to coordinate law and order and security arrangements.
Political observers view Shri Shah’s visit as highly strategic for the BJP in Odisha. By anchoring major events in both the western and coastal regions of the state, his presence is expected to energize party cadres and shape local political dynamics ahead of the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections scheduled for early next year.
