Sambalpur: Saffron Veteran and Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to commence a three-day visit to Odisha on March 21, party State President Manmohan Samal informed here today.
Shri Samal chaired a high-level meeting with several Ministers, MPs and MLAs from western Odisha here at MCL Guest House to chalk out a detailed plan to make Shah’s visit a grand success.
As per schedule, Shri Shah will arrive at Jharsuguda Airport on March 21 and spend the night at MCL Guest House and on March 22, he will visit Maa Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur before addressing a public gathering at the PHD Ground in Sambalpur, he said.
Minister Home Affairs, shri Shah will also launch several developmental projects there, Shri Samal informed.
The Union Minister will have his launch at MCL Guest House. Thereafter, he will proceed to Puri via Bhubaneswar. He will stay at night in Puri town.
The next morning (March 23), Shri Shah will have darshan of Lord Jagannath. He is then scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the proposed Forensic Science university in Jatni, the BJP President said. On the afternoon of March 23, he will return to Delhi, he added.
It will be the second visit of Shri Shah after the BJP formed government in Odisha. Shah had last visited Odisha from November 30 to December 1 to attend the DGP-IGP conference.
In the party meeting, senior BJP Lawmaker Jaynarayan Mishra was seen seated in the last row of the meeting even though he was invited to come to the front seat.
When media persons asked him about it, Shri Mishra said “I didn’t move to the front seat because I thought I wasn’t qualified.”
“The front seats were made for the State President, Ministers, General Secretaries and I am not holding any such position. So, I am not eligible to sit in the front,” he said.
When Media persons asked whether he is being neglected within the party, the senior BJP leader replied, “It is my party. Who will neglect me.”
