Dhenkanal: Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, today visited the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Dhenkanal to assess the ongoing renovation work and deliberate on the regional campus’s future development.
During his visit, Shri Jaju conducted a thorough inspection of the campus’s physical infrastructure, including the boys’ and girls’ hostels, academic block, audio-video facilities, and the administrative block.
He held detailed discussions with Regional Director Prof. Dr. Anand Pradhan concerning the institute’s current status, academic initiatives, infrastructure requirements, and strategic expansion plans.

Prof. Pradhan apprised the Secretary of the challenges confronting the campus and the forthcoming opportunities, particularly in enriching academic offerings and augmenting student capacity.
The discussions also encompassed the imperative of introducing postgraduate (MA) programs and bolstering industry-academia collaboration.
Expressing his satisfaction with the progress of work, Shri Jaju lauded the efforts of the campus team and affirmed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s complete support in enabling IIMC Dhenkanal to evolve into a premier center of excellence in media and communication education in eastern India. He seemed optimistic on future of the Institution.
The visit underscores the Ministry’s ongoing dedication to reinforcing regional centers and ensuring equitable access to quality media education nationwide.
