The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially concluded the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 cycle by recommending 958 candidates for appointment to the nation’s premier administrative and diplomatic services.

The final results, released on March 6, 2026, represent the culmination of a rigorous selection process that began with nearly 9.4 lakh applicants in May 2025.

Following the evaluation of the Written (Main) Examination and subsequent Personality Tests, the Commission identified 317 General, 104 EWS, 306 OBC, 158 SC, and 73 ST candidates to fill the 1,087 vacancies reported by the government.

The executive leadership of this cohort is headed by Sh. Anuj Agnihotri, an AIIMS Jodhpur medical graduate who secured the first rank using Medical Science as his optional subject. He is followed by Ms. Rajeshwari Suve M, an engineering graduate from Anna University who emerged as the top female candidate, and Sh. Akansh Dhull, a commerce graduate from the University of Delhi who secured the third position. The diverse academic backgrounds of the top five, which include specialists in Law and Economics, underscore the multidisciplinary expertise entering the 2025-26 administrative cadre.

Odisha has maintained a notable presence in the national merit list, with several candidates from the state achieving high rankings. Satwik Satyakam Debata secured the 100th rank, while Amrit Mohapatra from Puri achieved the 121st rank. For Mohapatra, who was already serving in the state cadre after ranking 46th in the Odisha Administrative Service, this result fulfills a long-standing ambition to join the Indian Administrative Service. Other successful candidates from the region continue to demonstrate the state’s growing influence in the federal bureaucracy.

The Commission also highlighted the inclusive nature of this year’s results, noting the recommendation of 42 Persons with Benchmark Disability across various categories. To ensure all reported vacancies are eventually filled, a consolidated reserve list of 258 candidates has been established. Currently, the appointment of 348 recommended individuals remains provisional, pending the final verification of their requisite documentation and eligibility credentials by the respective ministries.
