New Delhi: Senior Mandarin, Santosh Kumar Sarangi has taken over as Director General Foreign Trade (DGFT).
1994 Batch IAS Officer, Mr.Sarangi took new charge here on Monday after Department of Personnel && Training notified his assignment after approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
After taking the charge of DGFT, Mr.Sarangi talked to senior officials of DGFT and discussed at length about the export- import scenario of the country.
While Mr.Sarangi is having long experience in Ministry of Commerce as Joint Secretary and Chairman of APEDA, he harped on scaling up exports through various initiatives.
India aims to achieve a target of $400 billion in the current fiscal year, and has met nearly two-thirds of its annual export target during April-November.
