New Delhi: IAS Veteran, Santosh Kumar Sarangi has been promoted to the rank of Secretary in the Union Government.
1994 Batch IAS Officer, Mr.Sarangi, who is now serving as Director General Foreign Trade (DGFT) has been empaneled in the level of Secretary.
While Government of Odisha presented him the Apex Scale on 1 January, 2024, Shri Sarangi has been promoted as Secretary in Government of India.
Department of Personnel & Training (DOPT) has brought out a notification in this regard on 6 March.
Known as an honest and hardworking Mandarin, Shri Sarangi has been instrumental in scaling up Exports from the Country in a big way during last four long years.
Shri Sarangi took charge of DGFT, on 24 January, 2022 and made his presence felt in Ministry of Commerce with his commitment and progressive approach, admit insiders.
While Mr.Sarangi is having long experience in Ministry of Commerce as Joint Secretary and Chairman of APEDA, he harped on scaling up exports through various initiatives.
His batch mate Ranjana Chopra has also been empaneled in the rank of Secretary. She is serving as AS & FA in the Ministry of Culture.
