Bhubaneswar: In a major reshuffle among senior IPS Officers ahead of General and Assembly polls, the State Government today appointed Sanjeeb Panda, a 1994 batch officer as Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar —Cuttack.
At present, Shri Panda is serving as Director Intelligence with additional charge of CMD, Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OSPHWC).
As per a notification issued by Home Department, Police Commissioner Soumendra Kumar Priyadarshi has been transferred and posted as Director, Intelligence.
Santosh Bala, a 1995 batch IPS officer and Special Secretary, Home has been given additional charge of CMD, OPHWC.
Similarly, Himanshu Kumar Lai, IG of Police, Eastern Range, Balasore has been appointed as IG, Northern Range, Sambalpur; Deepak Kumar, is the new IG, North Central Range, Talcher and he will remain additional charge of Principal of Police Training College, Angul.
Southern Range IG Satyabrata Bhoi is posted as IG, Eastern Range, Balasore while IG of EOW, J N Pankaj has been transferred and posted as IG, Southern Range, Berhampur with additional charge of EOW and STF.
On promotion, Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh has been appointed as new DCP Cuttack in the rank of DIG of Police. Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra is the new Puri SP.
The new SPs of different districts are—Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar (Kendrapada), Madkar Sandeep Sampat (Dhenkanal), Rama Prasad Sahoo (Deogarh), Harisha B C (Rayagada), and Yashpratap Shrimal (Sonepur).
As per the notification, Rayagada SP Vivekananda Sharma has been transferred as AIG, State Police Headquarters while Dhenkanal SP Gyana Ranjan Mohapatra shifted to Special Branch, Bhubaneswar.
Moreover, Amaresh Kumar Panda, SP Sonepur is transferred and posted as AIG, State Police Headquarters whereas Deogarh SP P K Mishra posted as SRP, Rourkela.
