Samalei Project On Track

SAmbalpur: Union Minister Education, Dharmendra Pradhan conducted a comprehensive review of various developmental projects under the Department of Works today, with a particular focus on the ambitious Samalei project in Western Odisha.

The review, held at RDC Conference Hall assessed the current progress and addressed potential roadblocks to ensure timely completion.

Prithiviraj Harichandan, Minister Works, Rabi Narayan Naik, Minister Rural Development, Jay Narayan Mishra, Lawmaker Sambalpur graced the meeting.

RDC Northern Division, Sachin Ramchand Jadhav, IGP Himanshu Kumar Lal, Collector Siddheswar Baliram Bondar and other senior officials were present.

The Samalei project, considered a pivotal infrastructure initiative for the region, is now targeted for completion by February 2026. Minister Shri Harichandan expressed satisfaction with the ongoing work, while emphasizing the importance of adhering to the stipulated timelines.

“The Samalei project holds immense significance for the people of Western Odisha,” stated Minister Shri Harichandan. “It is crucial that we maintain momentum and ensure its completion as per schedule. The review today allowed us to address specific concerns and streamline the process.”

The Union Minister’s review encompassed a detailed evaluation of various aspects of the project, including construction progress, resource allocation, and adherence to quality standards.

Officials from the Department of Works provided updates and presented strategies to accelerate various ongoing projects.

The review underscores the government’s commitment to prioritizing infrastructure development in the region and ensuring the timely delivery of projects that benefit the local communities.
