Samal Takes U Turn

Bhubaneswar: Within an hour after making a statement claiming that BJP will fight alone in Odisha, State BJP President Manmohan Samal today said the BJP National President will take final call on this issue.

In his latest statement to the media, Shri Samal said, “BJP’s Parliamentary Party and National President will take decision on a specific matter (indicating alliance with BJD).”

Alleging the Media publishing misleading information, Shri Samal said the Odisha BJP workers are in stress and confusion. So, he has made the statements. He requested the media to publish the news about what the National President will say. Samal also deleted his tweet made on his statement.

In his earlier statement, indirectly ruling out all speculation over the possible alliance between the Governing BJD and the BJP, the State BJP President had stated that his party will fight alone under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming elections in the State.

Speaking to media persons after attending series of meetings with national leadership in New Delhi, Shri Samal said “With the help and blessings of 4.5 crore people of Odisha, we will fight the elections alone over the Odia Ashmita (pride),”

“Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, BJP will form the government in Odisha for the first time in the 2024 elections. At the same time, BJP will also form government at Centre also for the third time” he told reporters.

When asked further on the alliance with BJD, the State BJP President said, “Had that been the case, I would not have said that BJP will form government in Odisha. The saffron party will form a government with the blessings of the people of the State.”

It may be noted that, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has convened a meeting of senior leaders of his party today at his residence Naveen Niwas, to clear the air on the possible alliance. The BJD will spread its message to the party leaders. Now all eyes are on the official statement from the Governing BJD and BJP national leadership.
