Samal On Ekla Chalo

Bhubaneswar: Ruling out all speculation over the possible alliance between the Governing BJD and the BJP, State BJP President Manmohan Samal today made it clear that his party will fight alone under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming elections in the State.

Speaking to media persons after attending a series of meetings with national leadership in New Delhi, Shri Samal said “We will fight the elections with the help and blessings of 4.5 crore people of Odisha. We will fight the elections over the Odia Ashmita (pride),”

“Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, BJP will form the government in Odisha for the first time in the 2024 elections. At the same time, BJP will also form government at Centre also for the third time” he told reporters.

When asked further on the alliance with BJD, the State BJP President said, “Had that been the case, I would not have said that BJP will form Government in Odisha. The saffron party will form a government with the blessings of the people of the State.”

It may be noted that, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has convened a meeting of senior leaders of his party today at his residence Naveen Niwas, to clear the air on the possible alliance. The BJD will spread its message to the party leaders.

From the statement of Shri Samal, it shows that there will be no pre-poll alliance between the BJD and BJP before the upcoming polls. It seems that something did not go in the right direction due to which the talk which was initiated by both parties ended without any conclusion.

From the day one, maximum of the Odisha BJP leaders were protesting against the move for an alliance. Sources also said RSS is also backing the State BJP in its stand.  Now all eyes are on the official statement from the Governing BJD.
