Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to bolster the state’s industrial ecosystem, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is actively revitalizing its Aluminium Park at Angul, with a strong emphasis on integrating Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as ancillary and downstream industries.
This initiative, designed to foster local value addition and employment, is being spearheaded by a dedicated team from NALCO. NALCO and IDCO will host a Road Show on Aluminium Park on 23 September.
A high-level meeting, chaired by Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD NALCO, and co-chaired by Shri Jagdish Arora, Director (Projects and Technical) with additional charge of Director (HR) NALCO, recently brought together key industry stakeholders. The NALCO team engaged with representatives from prominent industrial associations, including the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ltd (UCCIL), FICCI, CII, and Assocham.
The UCCIL delegation was led by its President, Dr. Prabodh Mohanty. Other key participants from UCCIL included Shri Murali Jamula, Vice President (Commerce); Dr. Sanjeev Mahapatra, Honorary Secretary; Shri Ali Kishore Patnaik, Advisor to UCCIL Board; Shri Monoj Prusty, Advisor to UCCIL Board; and Shri Sanjay Patnaik, Advisory Committee Member. The meeting also saw active representation from CII, FICCI, and Assocham.
During the interactive session, a pivotal decision was made: UCCIL will take the lead role in gathering comprehensive inputs from the various premium associations and presenting a unified perspective at a major road show planned for September 23. This collaborative approach is a testament to the concerted efforts of all parties involved to ensure the success of the Aluminium Park project.
To execute the decided-upon plan, President Dr. Prabodh Mohanty assigned specific responsibilities. Dr. Sanjeev Mahapatra, Honorary Secretary, was tasked with preparing the draft presentation by consolidating inputs from the participating industrial associations. He will be supported in this endeavor by Shri Ali Kishore Patnaik, Advisor to the UCCIL Board.
Furthermore, Shri Murali Jamula, Vice President (Commerce), was given the responsibility of coordinating with other affiliated associations to ensure a robust turnout and active participation in the upcoming road show.
This development marks a significant achievement under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Prabodh Mohanty, President UCCIL, highlighting the chamber’s proactive role in driving industrial growth and collaboration in the state. The successful meeting sets a positive tone for the September 23 road show, which is expected to attract widespread interest from potential investors and entrepreneurs.
