Bhubaneswar: Major road infrastructure developments in Odisha are moving forward as the state government focuses on removing execution bottlenecks. A high-level review meeting was held at Lok Seva Bhawan under the chairmanship of Minister for Law, Works, and Excise, Shri Prithviraj Harichandan, to evaluate key projects aimed at boosting economic growth.
Principal Secretary, Department of Works, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh issued critical directions to streamline major infrastructure expansion in Odisha.
Focusing on transformative urban connectivity, Principal Secretary, Shri Singh directed departmental officials and chief engineers to fast-track detailed project reports (DPR), expedite land acquisition processes, and clear technical and administrative bottlenecks for key road corridors.
A major emphasis during the meeting was placed on key urban mobility corridors in and around the capital city. Discussions covered progress on the Bhubaneswar Inner Ring Road alongside the new alignment for the Outer Ring Road. These corridors are set to play a pivotal role in decongesting traffic and establishing smoother transit networks across the capital region.
Several other vital infrastructure plans were reviewed, including elevated corridors from Raghunathpur to Trishulia and from Studio Chhak to Nuagaon. Progress was also evaluated for the Pipili-Konark road, the first and third phases of the Daya West project, the Kalpana Chhak flyover construction, and a proposed elevated road to streamline transit to Puri.
Senior officials present at the session included Engineer-in-Chief and Special Secretary Shri Samir Hota, Engineer-in-Chief Civil Shri Satyabrata Behera, Additional Secretary Shri Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Chief Construction Engineer Shri Manoj Mahananda, Chief Engineer Shri Shibabrata Taria, and OBCC Chief General Manager Shri Sridhar Rout.
