Bhubaneswar: A new chapter of intellectual enrichment and administrative excellence unfolded at the Department of Revenue & Disaster Management in Lok Seva Bhawan as Shri Suresh Pujari, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, formally inaugurated the department’s modern library.
Marking the occasion with a deep sense of reverence for governance and law, the Minister Shri Pujari spent time perusing the pages of the Constitution of India before etching his thoughts into the visitor’s register as its first official patron.
Expressing his profound satisfaction, Minister Shri Pujari emphasized that this sanctuary of knowledge is designed to sharpen the professional acumen of departmental officers while fostering personal growth and administrative efficiency.
The library seamlessly bridges traditional scholarship with modern technology, offering comprehensive digital resources and access to the Odia Virtual Academy’s extensive collection of unique literary works.
According to Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, the facility serves as a vital repository for essential departmental data, specialized administrative texts, and critical circulars that will streamline executive functions.
Known for his personal passion for literature and his history of fostering reading cultures—evidenced by his previous initiative to establish a public library at Krushi Bhawan—Dr. Padhee encouraged officers to contribute their own authored works and other valuable volumes to the collection.
To ensure a focused atmosphere of quiet reflection and scholarly discipline, the use of mobile phones has been strictly prohibited within the premises.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Special Relief Commissioner Shri Rajesh Prabhakar Patil alongside several senior officials, marking a collective commitment to intellectual development within the halls of governance.
