Bhubaneswar: In order to fill up huge vacancies and to enhance the quality of education at school level, Odisha Government has started the process for recruitment of 20,000 Junior Teachers in primary and upper primary schools of the State.
The Odisha School Education Program Authority (OSEPA) under School and Mass Education Department has issued advertisement notice for the massive online mode of recruitment.
All the eligible candidates can apply for the post of Junior Teacher (Schematic) through online mode only from September 13. They can submit online applications till October 10. No other mode of application will be accepted and there will be no examination fees, a notification of OSEPA said.
All the candidates will be selected on the basis of marks secured on computer-based test (CBT) to be conducted by the State Government. The syllabus of the CBT examination is available on the OSEPA Portal. The date, time and examination centre of the test will be mentioned on the admit card of the candidates concerned.

A Junior Teacher (Schematic) becomes eligible to be a Junior Teacher after three years of continuous and satisfactory service. Their six years of engagement as mentioned above will be co-terminus with that of Samagra Sikshya scheme till their absorption in the regular Elementary cadre.
Those candidates securing percentage of marks in their academic qualification as per the eligibility can apply for the online computer-based test for engagement as Junior Teacher (Schematic).
The percentage of marks secured by the candidates in aggregate out of the total marks will be taken into consideration for eligibility, as per the guidelines issued by the School and Mass Education Department for recruitment of the Junior Teachers.
Relaxation of Five Percent in minimum qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC, ST, SEBC and PwDs.
A candidate shall not be below 18 years of age and above 38 years of age as on today. In case of ST, SC, women & SEBC candidates, the upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years, OSEPA Notification said.
However, the Odisha Primary School Teachers’ Association opposed the recruitment of the State Government and demanded a regular appointment instead of a Schematic one, said sources.
