Bhubaneswar: Former Head Coach of Team India and Founder of Coaching Beyond, Ravi Shastri today met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and apprised him about the upcoming MGM School of Sports.
Shri Shastri along with CMD of MGM Group Pankaj Lochan Mohanty met Chief Minister Shri Patnaik and briefed him about the MGM School of Sports, which was set up near Cuttack to provide international standard cricket coaching to the young boys and girls.
Sharing about the meeting on social media site X, the Chief Minister said, “Glad to meet ex-cricketer & former head coach of Team India, @RaviShastriOfc, who visited #Odisha to attend the MoU signing event between ‘Coaching Beyond’ cricket academy and #Cuttack-based MGM School of Sports to establish a high-performance cricket academy.”
“Had a very fruitful discussion on development of world class cricket infrastructure in #Odisha. Thanked him for appreciating the state’s illustrious sporting ecosystem,” he said.
Last evening, MGM School of Sports had signed an MoU with Coaching Beyond, one of India’s premier cricket coaching institutions. Coaching Beyond is the knowledge & technical partner for this venture of MGM School of Sports to facilitate and execute high quality coaching programs with the aim to bring the world’s best practices to the heart of Odisha, said Mohanty.
The MGM Chief Shri Mohanty expressed his confidence and believes that this collaboration will augur well for the future of Odisha cricket and go on to become one of the most coveted cricket training centres in the world.
To kick start the School, up to 50 young male cricketers of 16 to 19 age group will be selected through a transparent process and offered high performance training at a subsidised fee.
Shri Shastri has expressed confidence that the MGM School of Sports will produce international level cricket players in coming years.
