Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha from December 3 to 7 to grace several functions at Puri, Bhubaneswar and Mayurbhanj.
According to the itinerary, the President of India will arrive here on December 3 by a special Indian Air Force plane and unveil a statue of Pandit Raghunath Murmu at Niladri Vihar in the evening.
She will visit the Sri Jagannath Temple in Puri on the next day for darshan of the Trinity and attend the 75th anniversary celebration of Gopabandhu Ayurveda College.
On December 4, the President will witness a demonstration of Naval Power organised by the Indian Navy on the Navy Day at the Puri Blue Flag beach. For the first time, such a massive Naval Show is being organized in Odisha, which will be graced by the Supreme Commandar Of Armed Forces.
On December 5, the President will attend the convocation of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology in Bhubaneswar and inaugurate the new Judicial Court Complex later in the day.
Shrimati Murmu is scheduled to pay homage to the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar at AG Square in Bhubaneswar on his death anniversary on December 6 and then proceed to her native village in Mayurbhanj district.
She will interact with students and teachers at Uparbeda Government Higher Secondary School.
She is scheduled to interact with the villagers at her residence and flag off a vehicle donated by the SLS Trust Board for the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Rairangpur.
Shrimati Murmu will also visit the local women’s college and perform puja at Shree Punyeshwar Mahadev Temple in the evening.
On the last day of her visit, the President is scheduled to lay the foundation stones for several railway projects before leaving for New Delhi.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has already reviewed the preparations made for the smooth visit of the President.
