New Delhi: President Smt. Droupadi Murmu today termed her flight in the potent Rafale fighter aircraft at Air Force Station, Ambala, as an “unforgettable experience,” stating that it has instilled in her a renewed sense of pride in the nation’s defence capabilities.

The President, who is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, offered her congratulations to the forces involved in organizing the sortie successfully.

“The sortie on Rafale is an unforgettable experience for me. This first flight on the potent Rafale aircraft has instilled in me a renewed sense of pride in the nation’s defence capabilities. I congratulate the Indian Air Force and the entire team of Air Force Station, Ambala for organising this sortie successfully,” President Smt. Murmu wrote, sharing her sentiments on the significant event.

This sortie marks a significant engagement for the President with one of the Indian Air Force’s most advanced fighter jets. The Ambala Air Force Station is a critical base for the Rafale fleet

The flight is a significant event, further highlighting the President’s engagement with the country’s frontline defence equipment. The Rafale, a cutting-edge multi-role fighter jet, forms a critical component of the Indian Air Force’s strategic strength, operating primarily from bases like Ambala.

This marks President Smt.Murmu’s second sortie in a fighter jet, following her flight in a Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft at Tezpur Air Force Station, Assam, in April 2023. She continues the tradition of Indian Presidents engaging directly with the operational readiness of the armed forces.
