Prep For Krushi Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The preparatory meeting for Krushi Odisha 2025-26 was recently convened under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Energy, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo.

The meeting solidified plans for the three-day agricultural conference, which is scheduled to take place with great enthusiasm from January 22nd to 24th.

The preparatory meeting saw detailed discussions and well-considered suggestions for successful organization from senior officials present, including Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary; Shri Shubham Saxena, Director Agriculture; and Shri Subrat Kumar Panda, Director Soil Conservation & Watershed Management.

A significant outcome of the meeting was the decision to institutionalize the conference. From this year onwards, the Krushi Odisha Conference will be organized on these particular dates every year in the month of January, ensuring it becomes a regular fixture in the state’s agricultural calendar.

The conference is set to be a major platform for knowledge exchange, drawing intellectuals, successful farmers, scientists, agricultural producers, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from across the country and the state.

The scale of the 2025-26 event is expected to be substantial. Organizers plan to feature over 250 stalls showcasing the work of agricultural entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs), and Mission Shakti members. Crucially, more than 10,000 farmers are projected to attend the conference.

A special highlight will be an exclusive exhibition on farm mechanization and modern agricultural equipment, reflecting the focus on technological adoption in the sector.

Logistical planning was a key agenda point, with specific discussions held regarding the accommodation and related arrangements for the large number of farmers expected to arrive from distant areas.
