Prantae Ties Up With Russian Giant

Bhubaneswar: Adding yet another feather to its cap, Odisha’s leading biotech startup Prantae Solutions, has been selected for India-Russia Joint Technology assessment and accelerated commercialization program in the field of Rheumatic Arthritis.

Under this program, Prantae Solutions has recently signed an MoU with Aivok LLC, Russia to co-develop a platform technology for rapid point-of-care diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis with clinical-level accuracy.

The two companies plan to decentralize current early rheumatic arthritis detection even before there is onset of clinical symptoms. The technology is based on specially crafted nano-sensors that can simultaneously detect multiple biomarkers of Rheumatic Arthritis with 99 per cent specificity.

With a rapidly increasing incidence of Rheumatic Arthritis going undetected in the early years of onset, a timely intervention before irreversible joint damage has set in can improve the geriatric quality of life.

“The technology is being designed to be a fully automated bench-side test that can be available at clinics, primary health centers in urban and rural locations. It is must that there should be very little or no learning curve for its operators.” says Dr. Aseem Mishra, CEO, Prantae Solutions.

The program is joint initiative of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India and Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises (FASIE).

The program is implemented by Federation of India Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI). The program provides part funding for the technology development and also supports for bi- lateral exchange of technology know-how and commercialization.

This is a first of its kind initiative in the country that helps deep-tech companies from either side to access investment from the growing ecosystem. The other 2 Indian companies that were selected for this support are Jayon Implants, Ernakulam, founded in 2004 and Ananya Technologies, Bangalore, founded in 2002.

“It is a great feeling to be such a young company and be selected for such a prestigious bilateral technology co-development program. It shows that our commitment to invention in the space of diagnostic for early disease detection is being globally recognized. We thank all our patrons and specially the startup ecosystem of Odisha.” says Dr. Sumona Karjee Mishra, Managing Director, Prantae Solutions. Prantae Solutions has been actively involved in COVID war.

It is the only company from Odisha that has indigenously developed RNA isolation kit and Antibody detection kit for SARS-CoV2 validated by ICMR.
