Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan sought personal intervention of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for immediate issuance of final (6th) semester mark sheet to Under-Graduate (UG) students of Odisha.
Writing a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr.Pradhan said that the UG students have appeared for the sixth semester examination through online mode in first and second week of August. However, they have not been provided their final semester marksheet and the results are expected to be declared later in the month of September, 2021.
“Despite repeated pleas to colleges and State education authorities, these students have not been provided provisional mark sheet. I am also in receipt of multiple grievances in this regard from the student community in Odisha,” Mr.Pradhan said.
“The late publication of provisional result/non issuance of marksheet is causing great suffering and jeopardizing the career prospects of our students as they are required to submit their final mark sheet, or an attested provisional mark sheet, for seeking postgraduate admission in various state and central universities outside Odisha, where the admission procedure has already commenced,” the letter read.
Mr.Pradhan said Odisha students have already missed the datelines of Central University of Mizoram and Bharathiar University. At the same time, the last date for admission to Mumbai University, Kumaun University and other universities is fast-approaching.
Keeping in mind career prospects of final semester undergraduate students in Odisha, the Union Minister sought urgent attention of Naveen in undertaking necessary action for immediate issue of final mark sheet, or an attested provisional mark sheet to them so that they may be able to pursue postgraduate admissions into various state and central Universities in India.
