Pradhan Emphasizes Self-Reliance

New Delhi: Union Minister for Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, visited IIT Delhi. He met with undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, as well as innovators and researchers.

Also in attendance were Dr. Vineet Joshi, Secretary, Department of Higher Education; Prof. Rangan Bannerjee, Director, IIT Delhi; and other senior officials from the Ministry of Education and IIT Delhi.

During the event, the Minister emphasized the importance of self-reliance, a core theme from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s most recent Independence Day address. He stated that this is a unique moment to champion self-reliance, inspire collective action for national priorities, and fulfill the vision of a prosperous India by 2047.

The Minister spoke with students to learn about their aspirations, research areas, and technological pursuits, as well as their perspectives on the opportunities and challenges highlighted by the Prime Minister. He also shared his thoughts on how to enhance capabilities and foster a greater spirit of innovation.

He encouraged the students to pursue their innovative ideas, tackle complex challenges, and persevere until India achieves self-reliance in every sector. He concluded by assuring them that the government fully supports India’s innovators and researchers in building a brighter future for the next generation and establishing India as a global hub for solutions.
