Bhubaneswar: No Nonsence Top Cop Sanjeeb Panda has taken the matter seriously. As for the first time criminals tried to create terror in Nandankanan Zoological Park, Twin City Police Chief ordered a Mid Night Operation to nab the culprit.
Both the criminals who created a terror and damaged office equipment last evening mwere arrested in the late night operations.
According to sources, the armed miscreants unleashed a reign of terror at Nandankanan Deputy Director’s Office at 5 PM in the evening. The two miscreants stormed into the office of Deputy Director with weapons. They unleashed a state of terror in the office especially in the chambers of ACF (SM), ACF (VM), and office corridor.
They manhandled Dr. Rajesh Mahapatra, biologist, Dr. Sudipta Kumar Panda, ACF (SBG), Dr. Rashmi Ranjan Swain, ACF (SM), and Ashuthosh Campa, audit officer in the F&E Department.
Numerous office assets, including computers, laptops, printers, TV, and furniture, were destroyed. They also destroyed the laptop and mobile phones of the above said audit officer also.
ACF (SBG) provided timely information to the IIC (Inspector in Charge) at the Nandankanan police station over phone. The police PCR team arrived, however, they did not intervene immediately.
PCCF and HoFF Debidutta Biswal brought it to the notice of Shri Panda and with the intervention of Commissioner of Police both the two miscreants.
The zoo was closed on Monday and the reason behind the miscreants going there and attacking the officials is still unclear, police officials said.
