PM Opens Utkarsh Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave here at Janata Maidan.

Soon after arriving here at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, the Prime Minister directly left for Janata Maidan and inaugurated the Business Summit in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and several Union Ministers and Captains of Industry.

Among the Top Brass of Industries, JSW Chief Sajjan Jindal, JSP Head Naveen Jindal, Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal, Birla Group Chief Kumar Mangalam Birla, Goutam Adani’s son Karan Adani, Global CEO of Tata Steel, T V Narendran were present.  

Around 7,500 delegates including leading industrialists are attending the two-day conclave.

The PM also inaugurated the ‘Make in Odisha’ exhibition, showcasing the State’s achievements in developing an industrial ecosystem.

The Conclave will serve as a platform for industry leaders, investors, and policymakers to converge and discuss the opportunities Odisha offers as an investment destination.

Among the programmes being hosted at the conclave are CEOs and leaders’ roundtables, sectoral sessions, B2B meetings, and policy discussions, sources said.

This is his second visit to the state this month. He attended the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas Convention at the same venue on January 9.

Business representatives from Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan, Venezuela, the UK and the US are also attending the event

The conclave, a key step in achieving the vision of Samrudh Odisha 2036 and contributing to the national aspiration of Viksit Bharat 2047, will highlight Odisha’s immense potential as a key player in India’s industrial growth story, officials said

The conclave will host three thematic sessions focusing on Start-Up Odisha, Skilled in Odisha, and Women Entrepreneurship, facilitated by the Subhadra scheme. Additionally, CEO Roundtables, Women Leadership Roundtables, and Editors’ Roundtables will encourage meaningful discussions and partnerships.

The Make in Odisha Expo, featuring nearly 150 exhibitors showcases innovative products and solutions. While open exclusively to delegates during the conclave, the expo will remain open for the general public on 30th January 2025.

Delegates will experience Odisha’s rich cultural heritage with performances by Odisha Dance Academy on the opening day and a medley by the Culture Department on the second day. Both evenings will conclude with a spectacular Drone Show, blending tradition with technology.

The Utkarsh Odisha Conclave will spotlight sectors like technical textiles, downstream petrochemicals, specialty metals, and film and media, while advancing renewable energy, green fuels, and the circular economy. These efforts align with Odisha’s commitment to sustainable development and strengthening global partnerships, they said.

The Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 promises to be a landmark event, driving innovation, fostering partnerships, and shaping Odisha’s future as an industrial powerhouse. The State is eyeing to get investment intents worth Rs 5 lakh crore during the two-day Business event.
