Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to elevate Puri to the status of a world-class heritage city while safeguarding its rich cultural and historical identity, a high-level review meeting was held today under the joint chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida and Law, Works, and Excise Minister Shri Prithiviraj Harichandan.
The meeting was attended by Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary Works Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Puri District Magistrate Shri Divya Jyoti Parida, OBCC Managing Director Shri Sameer Hota, EIC (Civil) Shri Satyabrat Behera, and Advisor Works, Shri Jayakrishna Das.
Principal Secretary Works, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh outlined the deliberations and the meeting focused on accelerating development projects and addressing challenges to ensure a holistic and timely transformation of the city.
Acknowledging the global reverence for the Shree Jagannath Temple and the city of Puri, Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Parida emphasized the collective responsibility of both the government and the public to enhance its beauty and infrastructure.
She urged officials to expedite the development process, recognizing the city’s importance as a cherished pilgrimage destination for people worldwide.
Echoing the sentiment, Minister Shri Harichandan highlighted the need for strong determination and meticulous planning to overcome the inherent challenges of large-scale development.
He instructed departmental officers to adhere to a strict timeline to ensure the successful completion of all planned projects.
