Cuttack: Top Captain Of Industry, Pankaj Lochan Mohanty has been elected as the President of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA).
The OCA has made this announcement here today after Shri Mohanty was elected unopposed for the prestigious post.
Ace Sports Promoter Mohanty is currently serving as the Vice-President and acting President of the top cricket body of Odisha.
Shri Mohanty is the only person who filed nomination papers for the election to the prestigious post. His nomination remained valid and he remained uncontested. The formal announcement of his election to the OCA President was announced today.
Shri Mohanty was elected as the Vice-President of the apex council of OCA on October 28, 2022. He has resigned as the Vice-President prior to the joining in the office of the OCA President.
Earlier, the renowned industrialist had served as the President of the OCA from 2019 to 2022. He has quite experience in organizing national and international cricket tournaments.
Shri Mohanty has been promoting sports in general and cricket in particular in the State and helping out budding talents for international competitions.
The post of OCA President was lying vacant following the resignation of incumbent Pranab Prakash Das, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and former Minister in Odisha.
He was elected the President of OCA in 2022 and resigned from the post in December 2024 after his humiliating defeat in General Elections.
